Athlete's Foot Is A Fungal Infection

Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection of the foot and is also referred to as ringworm, this is a clinical condition and the medical term is tinea pedis. It is a common, contagious skin infection and occurs when a fungus grows (usually) between the toes but it can infect the soles of the feet. A toenail fungus infection is called Onychomycosis, or ringworm of the nail.
